1. Plan the lesson, don't plan every second

Go into your classes with a clear lesson aim, a logical sequence of activities, and a couple of no-prep backup ideas just in case. This helps you stay on track, makes sure each activity builds logically into the following one, and that you have something to fall back on in case things don't go according to plan.
